Maternity Care
Having a baby is a special moment for any mother, and at North Florida Regional we want to make sure that every mother who has her baby at The Women's Center has the very best experience possible.
Women and families are able to remain in the same room during labor, delivery and recovery and continue to receive care in a postpartum unit. Although the maternity room has the appearance of a pleasant bedroom, it can convert to a delivery room within minutes. The rooms contain all the comforts of home, including a rocking chair, flat screen TV, sofa and jetted tub. Most rooms provide a relaxing view of the duck pond. After delivery, mother and baby remain together.
In addition, the Special Care Nursery is staffed by a team of nurses, neonatologists, pediatricians and other health professionals who have had specialized training in caring for sick and premature babies.
